Sideline SAC
Who we are
Sideline SAC is operated by Sarah Vardy. This policy covers the Sideline SAC iPhone app and the service that stores a trainer’s records. The app is a record for the trainer. It does not diagnose a concussion.
What we collect
- Trainer account. Name, email address, and a password, or the identifier Apple provides if you use Sign in with Apple. On Android, Sign in with Google works the same way if you use it.
- Athletes you add. Name, date of birth, and a photo if you take or choose one.
- Exams and follow-ups. The scores and answers you enter, concussion-event notes, symptom notes, and follow-up check-ins.
- Eye videos. A short video of the eyes and how they move, plus the answers on the short visual questionnaire. The phone does not record the retina. The video can include sound from that clip. The questionnaire is encrypted before it is stored.
- Subscription. Apple or Google tells us whether a subscription is active and when it ends. They process the payment. We do not receive or store card numbers.
- Reminders. Follow-up reminders are scheduled on the phone. They are not sent from our server.
Spoken answers can be transcribed on the phone with the device’s speech recognition. We store the score you keep, not a recording of the whole exam.
How we use it
We use this information to:
- Sign you in and keep your roster, exams, videos, and follow-ups available on your account.
- Sync records from the phone to the Sideline SAC service.
- Show whether a subscription is active.
- Respond if you ask about your account or ask us to delete it.
We do not sell personal information or health information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Where it is stored
The app keeps a copy on the phone. When you sync, records are stored on Google Cloud in the United States (the us-west1 region). Photos and eye videos are stored in a private cloud bucket. Names and the eye questionnaire are encrypted. Connections to the service use HTTPS.
Who else receives it
- Apple or Google, when you sign in with their account or buy a subscription.
- Google Cloud, which hosts the service and the stored files.
- A legal request, if the law requires us to disclose information.
We do not give athlete records to other trainers.
Athletes under 18
The account belongs to the trainer, not the athlete. A trainer may record an athlete under 18. We do not sign athletes up for their own accounts. The trainer is responsible for having permission to record that person.
How long we keep it
We keep the records while the trainer account exists. Email vardy.sarah@gmail.com to ask for a copy, a correction, or deletion of the account and the athlete records, photos, and videos stored with it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
